CAS (number)


The Chemical Abstracts Service

Acronym for: Chemical Abstracts Service.

Recognized worldwide, the "CAS" number is a code which allows identification of chemical substances, whether they are of natural or synthetic origin. It is not restricted to the cosmetics industry but it is useful for them as for all the others. However it is not available for all substances.
