Chelating Agent

Chelating agents react to form complexes with metal ions susceptible to affecting stability and/or the aspect of cosmetic products. Widely used in soaps for sequestering calcium, a component of limestone.

Among chelation agents:
• EDTA (Disodium EDTA, Tetrasodium EDTA ...)
• Etidronic Acid
• Oxalic Acid and derivatives
• Phytic Acid

Responsible Person

February 20, 2013 After the Article 4 of the Cosmetics Regulation (Regulation 1223/2009 – implemented in full on 11 July 2013), "only cosmetic products for which a legal or natural person is designated within the Community as ‘responsible person’ shall be placed on the market." The “Responsible Person” statute may be automatically attributed, or may result from a contract.
